The provision of training is subject to the acceptance of these terms and conditions.
1. Driving licenses and fitness to drive:
You must hold a current, valid driving license, provisional, full or international, and produce it on your first training session. You must be fit to drive with regard to legal and medical requirements. Your instructor reserves the right to cancel a lesson at short notice, or terminate a lesson if it is suspected that the pupil may be unfit to drive due to the effects of alcohol, drugs (prescribed or otherwise) or any other condition that would cause his/her driving to be dangerous or illegal. In such circumstances the lesson fee will become due and payable to the instructor.
2. Payments and Cancellation:
Tuition fees are normally payable in cash before lesson begins.
If pupil needs to go to the bank to make payment, this will be
taken out of pupils lesson time. Any cheques offered for payment
that are subsequently refused by the bank will be subject to a
time wasted and administration charge of £20.00.
If you need to cancel or re-arrange a lesson at least 48 hours
notice is always appreciated, or we reserve the right to charge
for cancelled lesson.
Your instructor will do everything possible to ensure that your
lessons start and finish on time, but reserves the right to
cancel, postpone or change lesson lengths and start/finish times
under certain circumstances (e.g., dangerous weather
conditions). In the event of postponement fees paid in advance
will be carried forward to your next lesson.
3. Bookings:
Your instructor will endeavour to maintain regular lesson slots
at the same time each week to ensure continuity of learning,
however, this cannot be guaranteed, other than by paying in
advance to guarantee a date and time slot.
4. Prices/Special Offers:
Jill Davis Driver Training reserves the right to adjust, change prices and withdraw special offers without notice, but will endeavour to inform pupils of any changes as soon as possible.
5. Training vehicle:
The training vehicle provided by Jill Davis Driver Training is
taxed, insured for the purposes of driving tuition, fully
roadworthy and fitted with dual controls.
6.Suitable Clothing and Shoes.
You are required to wear suitable clothing comfortable to take
driving lessons. Flat shoes are best, no flip flops. Gentlemen
are required to wear shirt tops of some sort, e.g. no bare
chests. If sun tan oil has been used please ensure that you have
showered before entering the training vehicle. No dirty working
clothes, no gardening clothes, paint and decorating clothes will
be allowed in the car. We wouldn't do it to your car, so please
don't do it to ours, by showing a little respect. If you are
asked to change, this time will be taken from your driving
lesson, and tuition fees will still be due.
7. Driving tests and bookings
Your instructor will advise you when to book your driving test.
If you go against advice, your instructor reserves the right to
refuse use of the driver training vehicle for test if it’s
considered that provision of a vehicle could cause a risk to
public safety and/or damage of the driving school vehicle, or if
the test date coincides with other pre booked tests/events
already in the diary.
Test day will be a two hour booking, this will be test practice
beforehand, followed by the driving test itself.
While your instructor will make every effort to ensure that the
vehicle supplied for test will be fully road worthy and comply
with all legal requirements at the start of the test, she cannot
be held responsible for vehicle failure that occurs during the
test and is not liable for consequential loss.
Your instructor cannot be held responsible for test appointments
cancelled by the DSA due to bad weather, sickness, staff
shortages or other reasons. Such cancellations are beyond the
control of your instructor and therefore the lesson fee and ‘use
of car’ fee for the booked period will be charged. Your
instructor will advise about claiming compensation from the DSA
..
8. Code of conduct
Your instructor agrees to abide by the conditions of the
Professional Code of Conduct (a copy of which will be provided
on request). In the unlikely event of complaint or dispute the
guidelines of the Code of Conduct will be adhered to.
9. Your rights:
These conditions do not affect any protection a student has
under consumer legislation.
We reserve the right to change or alter any of the terms and
conditions without notice, but will endeavour to inform pupils
of any changes as soon as possible.
